We're a great place to start - and to stay
Become an intern at OSIsoft, and you become a valued member of our organization. In a relaxed environment, you'll learn and contribute, working on important projects alongside experienced engineers. In fact, many students continue to intern with us throughout their college careers. And those who excel often join OSIsoft when they've completed their education.
I will be a junior at Drexel University where I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in German Language Studies. This summer, I'm working on a project to enable PI Vision to work with an AR headset so that customers can have access to a hands free device to record and look at trends in data. I am also working on a Macro to generate legal documents from spreadsheet information that should save some teams a good amount of time.
I love the culture of the company. There is so much support and help available so the environment promotes growth and excellence. People here genuinely want to know what you have been up to, so it is easy to make friends. It's the small things, like talking to people in the breakroom whether or not you know them or someone holding the door for you, that truly show how friendly everyone here is.
At MIT, I am majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry. My internship is focused around the collaborative efforts between OSIsoft and MIT to develop a methodology for defining the “Golden Batch,” an ideal batch which can be used as a reference to evaluate the quality of future batches. The methodology will provide not only a model for the Golden Batch but also a predictive model to judge whether future batches will meet the defined quality.
The internship has been a great experience because OSIsoft provides the opportunity to continue building on my previous knowledge as well as develop new skills in an open and friendly environment. OSIsoft gives me the unique ability to pursue data modeling whereas my previous research experiences involved lab work with nanocrystal synthesis and literature reviews on novel technologies for water treatment.
I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Computer Science at Arizona State University. This summer I will be developing new tools that will improve the efficiency of the development team that will be used to troubleshoot Cloud Services.
My mentor was very open to project suggestions and tried to gauge what I wanted to learn. I also like the amount of freedom given on my project because it allows me to be more creative and come up with novel solutions.
I am working on my Mechanical Engineering degree at Concordia University. This branch of engineering is the broadest, and thus equipped me with valuable problem solving skills to attack a wide range of problems with enough product/industry knowledge. During my 3 internships, I've not only learned how valuable data is, but worked on proof of concept use cases such as bike sharing systems in a smart city context, which was demoed at a regional seminar. I've also monitored office's power consumption and attempted to track human presence in real-time using the PI System. Lastly, I got intensive training on our various data infrastructure suite of software technologies.
The people, culture, opportunity and the product is what captivated me about OSIsoft. It's rare to step in an environment where all these boxes can be checked. If you love problem solving, being surrounded with great people, but above all love to continuously learn, then OSIsoft is where you should come and spend your summer. They trust you with challenging tasks and provide you with mentorship along the journey.
There are some great opportunities today at OSIsoft for internships in many different areas and focus. Take a look and see what may be a fit for you!
